GC Faculty & Graduate Student amongst the 58th Annual GRAMMY Nominations

The Graduate Center Music Program is pleased to share that faculty member and pianist Professor Ursula Oppens and D.M.A. graduate student Soyeon Kate Lee are amongst the 58th Annual GRAMMY Nominations. Professor Oppens is nominated in category 78, “Best Classical Instrumental Solo” for her recording with Cedille Records of Rzewski’s The People United Will Never Be Defeated! and is also represented within the list of recordings produced by Judith Sherman, who is nominated in category 73 for Best Producer of the Year, Classical. GC D.M.A. graduate student Soyeon Kate Lee is also represented in category 73, within Judith Sherman’s nomination, for her performance in a recording titled Sirota: Parting The Veil – Works For Violin & Piano, in collaboration with David Friend, Hyeyung Julie Yoon, and Laurie Carney.

The 2016 Grammy Awards ceremony will be held on February 15, 2016, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. A live broadcast of the event can be viewed on the CBS Television channel at 8e/5p.
