Haralabos [ Harry ] Stafylakis to be featured in the 23rd Annual Underwood New Music Readings Sessions

The Graduate Center Music Program is pleased to share that the American Composers Orchestra will be performing a symphonic version of “Brittle Fracture” by GC Composer Haralabos [ Harry ] Stafylakis as part of the 23rd Annual Underwood New Music Readings Sessions.  Harry is one of seven composers chosen from an international pool of more than 400 applicants from seven countries and 37 states ranging in age from 9 to 84. The Readings are led by ACO Artistic Director, Derek Bermel and Artistic Director Laureate, Robert Beaser; and conducted by ACO Music Director, George Manahan. The Underwood Readings are an exciting part of ACO’s ongoing professional training, commissioning, and performance programs for emerging American composers, and we are thrilled to see Harry and his work featured in the program!

The Underwood New Music Readings  will be held at The DiMenna Center for Classical Music, June 6-8, 2014, and  include two public events: a working rehearsal on June 6 at 10am, and a run-through performance on June 7 at 7:30pm. Both events are free and open to the public. For more information, see: http://www.americancomposers.org/concerts/2014/04/24/unmr2014/
