Program Info: Thomas Sauer performs a concert of piano works, each representing a different phase of the careers of Ludwig van Beethoven, Peter Lieberson, and Frédéric Chopin. Hailed for his “whirlwind of passionate utterance,” “impeccable touch,” and “formidable finger-work,” Sauer is a graduate of the CUNY Graduate Center and is in great demand as soloist, chamber musician, and teacher. The concert includes Beethoven’s Sonata in D Major, Op. 10 No. 3, Lieberson’s Piano Variations, and Chopin’s Three Mazurkas, Op. 59, Nocturne in E Major, Op. 62 No.2, and Barcarolle, Op. 60.
