The Graduate Center Music Program is pleased to share that on September 22nd, 2017, Longleash trio, comprised of GC D.M.A. violinist Pala Garcia, GC D.M.A. cellist John Popham and pianist Renate Rohlfing, released their debut album with New Focus recordings titled “Passage.” The album features the first commercial recordings of innovative piano trios, written by an international group of composers launching remarkable careers, including Francesco Filidei, Clara Iannotta, Juan de Dios Magdaleno, Christopher Trapani, and Yukiko Watanabe. This collection of works illustrates the inventive and experimental ethos that has shaped the evolving identity of this traditional instrumentation in recent years.
An album release event is scheduled for October 1st, 2017 at Le Poisson Rouge here in New York City.
