The 16th ICTM Study Group on Iconography of the Performing Arts’s conference, chaired by Dr. Zdravko Blažeković, on “Music in Popular Theater and Ritual” is taking place in Montevideo & Salto, in Uruguay, 23-26 October 2019.

The conference is locally organized by the Centro de Investigación en artes y escénicas del litoral noroeste of the Universidad de la República, Uruguay.

The program has been put together by Marita Fornaro Bordolli from the Universidad de la República and Dr. Zdravko Blažeković.

The objective of the Study Group is to advance the research of visual sources relevant for music history, performance practice, musical life, and organology, as well as to provide a forum for cooperation among scholars of music iconography by means of international meetings and publications. The Study Group was founded by Tilman Seebass in 1985 as the Study Group for Music Iconography.
