On Wednesday, October 29th at 6:30pm in Elebash Hall, Professor Suzanne Farrin joins a discussion alongside Idra Novey and Mila Burns following a performance of excerpts from The Passion According to Janair, a solo show performed by Brazilian actress and playwright Ana Carbatti. The Passion According to Janair, co-written by Andressa Furletti, draws inspiration from The Passion According to G.H. by Clarice Lispector, a novel focusing on gender, racial, and social oppression in Rio de Janeiro. The performance on October 29th will be a preview of the show before it officially opens at HERE Arts Center in NYC.
Prof. Farrin is the composer of the opera Macabéa, which is also based on a novel by Lispector.
