Congratulations to Dr. Nicolas Namoradze (D.M.A. ’20), who has been featured in The New York Times!
In the February 10, 2026 article, “What Happens in a Performer’s Brain While Playing Music?” Nicolas has been featured for his groundbreaking research tying together music and neuroscience, utilizing the Glass Brain technology to map the effects of music on the performer’s brain using EEG (electroencephalography) imaging.
In upcoming news at the Graduate Center, Nicolas will also present a faculty recital at Elebash Hall at the Graduate Center on March 17th at 7:30pm, featuring an all-Beethoven program including Piano Sonata in F Major, Op. 54, Piano Sonata in B-flat major, Op. 106 (“Hammerklavier”), and Namoradze’s own transcription of the Grosse Fuge, Op. 133.
