Congratulations to GC alumnus Stephen Spencer (2024, Music Theory and Composition) who was featured in the March issue of The New Yorker in an article entitled “Meet the Dad Making Music from Toddler Twaddle”! This article discusses songs that Stephen has composed based on lyrics by his three-year-old daughter. These videos have already been viewed over 30 million times! In addition to composing the music for these songs, Stephen is a lecturer at Hunter College and works on various other composition and music theory projects. In addition to her work as a lyricist, his three-year-old daughter is a student at a preschool.
