The Graduate Center Music Program is pleased to announce that there are two co-winners of 2014 Barry Brook Dissertation Award. The committee has also decided to grant an Honorable Mention to a third.
The winners are:
Drew Nobile, “A Structural Approach to the Analysis of Rock Music”
Jordan Stokes, “Music and Genre in Film: Aesthetics and Ideology”
The Honorable Mention goes to:
Brian Moseley “Twelve-Tone Cartography: Space, Chains, and Intimations of ‘Tonal’ Form in Anton Webern’s Twelve-Tone Music”
Congratulations to all. It was an impressive year of nominated dissertations. Results for the 2015 award will be announced in early November.
