Chair of the Art and Music Department at John Jay College, GC music faculty member, and GC alumnus Ben Bierman has had a prolific 2019. This past spring semester, Dr. Bierman released both an Oxford University Press book entitled Listening to Jazz, 2e and a CD of his original compositions, entitled Some Takes On the Blues: More Songs by Ben Bierman. The latter reached #102 on the Jazz Week charts.
