The program includes a world premiere of Forrest Pierce’s The Very Short Sutra on the Meeting of the Buddha and the Goddess (text by Rick Fields); Beat Furrer’s Invocation VI for soprano and bass flute, with Francesca Ferrara, bass flute; Barbara Strozzi’s Sino alla morte, with Niccolo Seligmann, viola da gamba; Movements 3 and 4 of Arnold Schoenberg’s String Quartet No. 2 (text by Stefan George), with violinists Giancarlo Latta and Samuel Andonian, violist Martine Thomas, and cellist Aaron Wolff; Aaron Israel Levin’s The Ornithologia (Or The Phenomenal Unfettering of One Philomela), with double bassist Samuel Zagnit; a preview world premiere of Oliver Vibrans’ September Sonnets (text by Samuel Fairbrother) with Jay Julio, viola, and Violetta Maria Norrie, harp; and Pauline Oliveros’ Sonic Meditation XIV “Tumbling Song.”
